Engineering with purpose

Long service life by design through responsible materials and efficient use of resources.

Design and engineering

Products developed for performance, reliability and long service life.

Controlled manufacturing

Carefully managed production ensures quality, consistency and traceability.

Documented material choices

Responsible materials supported by verified data and transparency.

Technology that connects

Our lighting systems are built on open, widely adopted industry standards. This ensures long-term compatibility and easy integration into modern buildings, while keeping systems flexible, upgradeable and ready for future control environments.

Why it matters

Open standards reduce system lock-in, simplify commissioning and support long-term compatibility as technology evolves.

Designed for circularity documented for transparency

Every Luminans product group is supported by a verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. Our circular design strategy focuses on long lifetime, replaceable components, material optimisation and responsible production.

Example data is available in the ATLA family EPD.

What our EPDs include :
  • Lifecycle stages covered (LCA-based)
  • Material composition and sourcing overview
  • Energy and environmental impact indicators
  • Product group–level documentation

Materials with purpose

For selected product families, Luminans uses Luminans BIO-HP – a recycled polypropylene biocomposite reinforced with natural fibres, engineered for durability and documented environmental performance.

Technical details and documentation

Research and development

Product development is driven by performance requirements and long-term reliability. Design work focuses on optical performance, thermal behaviour, mechanical durability and system compatibility to ensure stable operation throughout the product lifecycle.

Manufacturing and quality control
Manufacturing processes are designed to ensure precision, consistency and repeatability. Quality control is integrated throughout production, from component handling to final assembly and testing, supporting predictable quality and traceability.
Material sourcing and assessment
Materials are selected based on functional requirements, durability and documented environmental performance. Where applicable, recycled and bio-based materials are used when they meet technical and mechanical demands. Material assessments are based on recognised lifecycle methodologies and supplier-specific data.
Environmental documentation and standards
Environmental performance is documented through established frameworks and standards. Selected product families are supported by Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 (Type III). Additional technical and environmental documentation is available to support planning, specification and procurement.
